1. Who is Anna Hazare?

2. What’s so special about him?

He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3. So what?

This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.

In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,…?

This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?

He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?

He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It’s an entirely new thing right..?

In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?

The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.

Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?

Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.

Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?

At least we can spread the message. How?

At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.

At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.

At least we can pray for his good health.

But after 2.5 years I realized that WordPress doesn’t give me full freedom to exploit the potential of  Web.

Yeah , It is true the wordpress.com is best place  and simplest way to start with , No Doubts!!!

I shifted to wordpress.org CMS and got domain candid-and-uncensored.com , but its cumbersome to do every bit yourself .

Improved Blogspot gives you the freedom of free hosting of own website/blog . You can do almost everything with blogspot ,  you do with wordpress , with additional freedom.

I started thinking about the final verdict on Godhara Massacre in which around 100 person planned and brunt the complete railway boggy. In which 59 persons were burnt alive.

63 accused have been already got acquitted  , Due to lack of evidence or some other reasons  ,which court or Manmohan Singh ji know better.

31 convicted . Lets see how many out of 31 convicted will get punishment more than the punishment mentioned for throwing balloons on train .

The section states, ‘If any person unlawfully throws or causes to fall or strike at, against, into or upon any rolling stock forming part of a train, any wood, stone or other matter or thing with intent, or with knowledge that he is likely to endanger the safety of any person being in or upon such rolling stock or in or upon any other rolling stock forming part of the same train, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years.’

Indian policy maker should come out from the dreamy world created by Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi around non-violence and non alignment. It is a act of Hara-kiri , which can be done by only silly Indian policy makers.

China has to oppose such move because China itself use the same violent action against the peaceful demonstration in China , reason one . Reason two China always support all Grey countries and dictators around world be it North Korea , Iraq or Pakistan.

Russia has its own interest in opposing such move.

May be .. Soon we are going to hear from Manmohan that he did not authorize anybody to make such statement. What the f**k is going on in India??

I am simply questioning the drastic change behind the reason of growing business 150 years back and now in 2011.

Some 150 years back things were getting invented at frantic pace after the invention of electricity. There was real need of light in night , speedy transportation of crops ,cereals and medicines.And many more genuine needs. Business growth came from genuine demand . Companies catered first developed market and then developing countries .

Now in 2011 things has shifted from catering needs of customer to maintaining the 10% YoY growth momentum of companies.  (YoY: Year on Year)

If a company is not growing sales 10% YoY then investors think that company is dead.

I want to know why 2% , 4% or 5% YoY is not sufficient ?

Why all government try hard to boost GDP at 8%-9% per year?

Can’t we provide food ,clean water , medicine for poor , shelter , education for them at 4% or 5% growth?

India was surviving at 5-6 % for 50 years . Unemployment problem is almost same.. as 40 years ago.  Other things are slightly improved. No body in India is crying for unemployment that is altogether a different story, which I will cover in my next post.  Indian  government is focusing more to bring FII , FDI making infrastructure better FOR MNC and INDIAN COMPANIES . And Companies are focusing on their 10% YoY…

Who are thinking about improvement of the poor.

Basic food prices are increasing because , LPG , Petrol , Diesel are now consumed by Power houses to generate electricity for COMPANIES ..   Still rural areas are struggling for electricity for irrigation.

Lands are used for SEZ or cash crops no body wants to grow wheat which sales for INR 900 /100 KG. Hence prices are increased . Onion and Wheat are being exported again not for the benefit of farmers , Export of these basic commodities benefit the big super rich farmers (supporters of politicians in rural area or politicians from rural area).

Basic commodities are listed like shares and used as investment instruments rather than as basic necessities , obviously prices will be increased . So Why not price of basic commodities will increase like anything??

Japan disaster is natures warning to stop and think that , Are all developing countries following the right path to development?

8% GDP growth and 10% YoY for 30% population of India is more important for government of India or ensuring  basic amenities for 70% of  population.

Government is working to bring down call rate at INR 10 paisa / minute  were as still human being are deprive of FOOD the basic necessity. People are still dying in Orrissa , MP , Aasam , Rajasthan ,Karnataka and Maharshtra  because of hunger and malnutrition.

What to talk of free QUALITY education ? and shelter , Social security is far away thing..

After 65 years of independence if people are dying of hunger then what did INDIA achieve .. ?

Is someone checking priorities of INDIA ???

Growth should be driven by demand of 70% people of India. But what we see is that growth is driven by  balance sheet of companies and 30% of Indian population.

Government is taking decisions and allocate fund to satisfy the Infrastructure need of Companies . And it is not sustainable . Maoists are butcher and terrorist, but there so called reason,social injustice , for terrorist activities  , is right.

Before every decision  Indian government should ask itself what it will bring for 70% below poverty line population.

Poor voters of India are notorious to vote for money , liquor or free cloth ,TV , cycle , blanket etc.?   Whatever congress did to save his government is the common practice in India.

All elections are won by giving monetary benefits to voters  .

It hardly matters that money was given by PM Manmohan or Some other Congressman.

Actually What , Manmohan Singh ji is saying , is correct.  -”Public has already given verdict on this matter, congress seats tally increased to 206 from 140. ” Why not voters will support congress who has already accepted money to vote his leaders, This is the basic criteria of voting in India .  Give me favor take my vote.

Corruption is backbone of Indian democracy which starts with election. Something like Electricity , Water and Internet in USA. Indians can’t live without corruption.

1. Voters vote the politician who gives them money after that whatever politicians do ,its none of his business.

2. Business houses donate money to the political party which promise to help the business house in trouble .

3. Criminals either joins the national parties or fight election,  which can help them to stay out of police arms.

4. Commissioner of police , collector and other officers support politicians , so that they can seek their help to get his transfer   order changed.

5. So what the fuss if congress paid 4 MLAs to vote for congress.

Don’t you wish secretly that how great if someone in your relationship / friend was close to some great politicians . How many favors you could have got. Life can become so much easy in India with the BIG CONNECTIONs. From School admissions ,to getting ration cards every thing become so easy if you have RIGHT connections.

Only Those Indians are cribbing about corruption who could not get benefit from it.  Or could not get opportunity to do corruption. Even I could not get opportunity to make easy money from corruption (Political/social/personal/moral corruption). Whatever small opportunities came , those were not worth of being corrupt.  Hence I am unfortunately  still uncorrupted Indian.

Many Koreans spent the weekend in front of televisions watching news of the magnitude-9.0 earthquake, tsunami, and volcanic and nuclear power plant explosions shaking the eastern part of the Japanese archipelago.

They were first shocked by the natural disaster and then impressed by the calm of the Japanese people, even in the face of such a catastrophe. Koreans paid their condolences and praised the Japanese people for their dignified reaction, which may have prevented further deaths.

That earthquakes were regular parts of their lives might have reduced the death toll: Schools hold earthquake drills every month with students’ parents participating more than once a year while all people memorize rescue and escape manuals by heart, while offices and large buildings are equipped with first aid kits and emergency food to help people survive aftershocks. But there was something more.

“No one seemed to be out of their minds. No one blamed, complained or instigated anyone or anything. They seemed to be focused on settling the situations and to maintain the orders,” Choi Sun-hee, a 53-year-old housewife, said Saturday night as she watched TV news of people queuing to be rescued and children waiting patiently for their teachers’ and parents’ directions.

“Usually, people would cry out loud asking for food and shelters. They would blame the government for ill conduction of measures against natural disease. The shops would be vandalized and moral hazard would be detected everywhere,” she said.

Such chaos was reported in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and after the Sichuan earthquake in 2008 and the earthquake in Haiti last year. The confusion was perceived as quite natural, observers said.

However, Japanese took a different stance. A reporter staying in the disaster stricken Miyagi Prefecture witnessed a sense of strong order and unity.

The bereaved families did not shout for compensation or make a scene. They wept and expressed their subtle grief, collected the dead bodies of their beloved ones and went back to their country without fuss.

“Japanese people are known for not showing too much of their emotions, especially when they are negative ones, exteriorly. They also believe that death isn’t the end of their lives,” Kim Eun-jung, who has stayed in Japan for several years, said.

I am republishing my last year post(An Open Letter to Pranav Mukharji ) , this time before budget.  Trying to convey grief of largest class in India who can not speak anywhere , No media cover this class. but still this class paying tax honestly. Actually this class should not at call come in any Income TAX slab. Fraction of amount of  all scams in 2010 can compensate the revenue loss . It is a bit lengthy post but it will give you the real picture of real India.

Dear Sir ,

I am  Ram Prakash Gupta , representative of common man (Lower and Lower Middle class ) of India. As per the income tax statistics report of 2006 , I am representing 273.3 lakh people (27.33 Millions) of India who have incomce less than INR 2 Lakhs per annum.

Dear Pranab Sir first of all I want to ask  why do you think that we lower-middle class(up to INR 3 Lakhs income group) don’t need any tax relief ?  Please sir spend 5 minutes to go through the following points to ponder on . My English is not good as I studied in Kannada medium school but yes You can understand with little effort.

Do you think that various tax reliefs you gave to higher income group  and corporates will reduce the prices of Milk , Daal , Chawal ,Wheat , Fruits , Vegetables , School fees , Bus fairs ,  House rents , Electricity bill , Water bill ,  Petrol Rates Yes , I  buy Petrol for my Scooty/Luna/Auto/Scooter bought on EMI  at same rate at which all   i10 ,i20 ,Honda Civic ,Honda City ,Alto , BMW ,Mercedes ,Scorpio  owner buys petrol.

I promise if you give us small tax relief  I will use it wisely .  I don’t need tax relief of INR 20000 or INR 50000 , Mere 10000 is enough for me I can improve many things in my life with that.

My child  is studying in Kannad /Hindi medium school . If you give some tax relief  than I can some how manage to send him in next door public school.  He is not studying in  DPS, Amity International schools , Ryan , New Horizon.

I will not spend that amount  in monthly pizza party ,boozing , new Jewelery , touch phone , iPod , LCD TV, Laptop ,  a trip to ooty , shimla . I will not buy a new Pulsar DTS 220 i  to impress girls .

Hari Ram ji never give his daughter ‘s B’day party in TJIF ,Bombay post , Leela etc . But yes seldom  he also wants to celebrate his daughter B’day in a decent restaurant with his relatives , only once in 3  years.  He can arrange such party if you give little tax relief.

I know sir that self contentedness is expected  from lower class and lower middle class , we are well known for that , but sometimes I think we too have some basic needs and we meet better with more money. Sir we just need little help from you.

Sir do you know I don’t have shares, PPF , FDs or LICs because other expenditure on my parents health  (Yes we lower-middle class stay with them and try our best to take care of parents unlike out higher income group individuals ) . If you give the tax benefit I will buy one term policy for me , Who knows which bomb blast kill me while Manmohan singh ji talking to Pakistan.

I also wanted to invest some money for my retirement just 10000 per year not more sir , may be it will help me in my old age to live grace fully . You know sir we don’t get pension , whatever EPF I’ll get that will be used in my daughters marriage and son’s higher education.

Sir please ,  give us little happiness , I know sir my savings and expenditure will not help much to boost India’s GDP because I can’t buy Bikes , Mobile ,TV , 2 BHK flats . I Can’t afford to  throw party in restaurants ,bowling , boozing  every weekend.But Still I believe 8% GDP growth is irrelevant if 5-6 crores people are suffering . I think 7.5% is not bad with little happiness of 5-6 crore peoples.  Isn’t it ??

My call center friend Rahul was happy that he can buy new Electric guitar with TAX saivings , His girlfriends is planning to buy iPhone with TAX Saving . Another friend is planning to buy new Laptop with 35ooo saving on TAXes.

When  all these people spend their TAX savings that will go back to Economy and government will get increased collection of service tax,sales tax etc. Government will get back his  money in other way I am sure for that .  This will increase GDP , in turn increase FDI ,FII investment, right?? . Liquidity will also increase .Very good sir!!

But sir please think about us also . Increasing  bottom income limit for tax exemption to Rs 275000 will not cost you more than INR 12000 Crores  . You are already accommodating burden of   aprox.  INR 15000 crores  because of  change in income tax slabs . If you try you can also accommodate Rs 12000 Crores by increasing no tax slab.

Sir Please accommodate  loss of direct tax  by reducing  infrastructure expenditure in Budget to  163000 crore from 173000 crores . I am sure sir if we implement these projects efficiently and  without corruption , 163000 crores are enough , You can also reduce budget in other schemes .

Sir a better educated and well feed child  is more important to nation than unnecessary SEZes , Flyovers .

Please sir give me my share sir . I will not waste it not at all. And believe me sir Rs 10000 tax relief for me is more important to me than relief of 30000 to double income couples . They can manage without 30000 tax saving but for me 10000 will give much awaited relief .

Please sir don’t wait till election year, I need it today.   No media will give illustration of my life style and expenditure pattern sir.

Times of India people start giving analysis with Income group 3.6 Lakhs  and advise them how  to invest them . I know you read TOI , The Hindu , Indian Express , ET , etcs  , these newspaper just represent  higher – middle class , even Media channel won’t come in our homes and Kitchens because that is not at all glamorous.

I swear sir the middle class shown in TV channels are fake. We not at all bothered about love affairs around us. we have many others front to think and get tensed.

Print Media and TV channels advertise how can one get 1 crore at the time of retirement. That is for Higher middle class sir. I go to Top-B schools to ask what students will do with saved money nobody comes to my home how will I arrange money for my father’s eye operation my son tuition fee.

We are just trying to build 1 BHK or 2 BHK at outer most colony of city , until we got retired.  I know I have to work in my old age also  for my monthly expenditure. I am not at planning to get retired by 45 and peruse my hobbies . These Dreams are not for me .   I have to work till 65-75 for my living hood , and I am ready for that.

But if you full fill my request then I would dream of a little relaxed old age.

P.S. :  Sir I changed my job in 2008 so I had two  Form 16 ,  In previous company 3000 was deducted as TDS , in another next company they deducted TDS of 9000 . Apart from that I paid 3000 through online payment .   Total I paid 15000 Rs as income tax with PAN number quoted every where. But recently I got notice from IT department that instead of 15000 I paid only 9000.

Why IT department could not trace 3000 TDS of previous company and 3000 additional online payment despite quoting the PAN number ..

Sir this is question on efficiency of PAN number system or may be your officers are not educated enough to use the computer systems. You are spending too much on infrastructure but whatever IT infrastructure  we have that is used at 50% of efficiency .

Will UID project system meet  the same fate??? Will it prove as wastage of my income tax ???

Sir Will UID able to trace 2 crore Bangladeshi intruders in India??   Please , ask Nandan sir to identify Bangladeshi intruders in India .. and send them to Bangladesh .

New Delhi, Mar 11 : The fact that Indians comprise four of the world’s 10 richest people according to Forbes magazine, seems to be reflection of the growing number of millionaires in India.

The country boasts of 5.79 lakh individual millionaires in 2006-07 a sharp contrast to the mere 88,000 individuals earning over Rs 10 lakh in 2002-03.

The figure is almost equal to and in some cases more than the entire population of countries like Luxemburg and Cyprus. Meanwhile, non-corporate assessees with income between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 10 lakh amounted to 27.87 lakh and while about 273.3 lakh people reported income less than Rs 2 lakh in 2006-07 according to the report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India tabled in Parliament on Tuesday.

As a sign of the India Inc’s growing power, corporate assessees too have risen from 3.65 lakh in 2002-03 to 4 lakh in 2006-07. 68,000 companies have also reported income of more than Rs 10 lakh during 2006-07.

However, the number of companies with income between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh have shrunk to 1.25 lakh during the period as compared to 1.29 lakh in 2002-03. On the whole non corporate assessees add up to 98.73% while corporates account for a mere 1.27% in 2006-07.

However, the income tax department has some food for thought. The number of taxpayers in the country has risen to 3.13 crore in 2006-07 from 2.85 crore in 2002-03, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.4%. While this is likely to please the taxmen mightily, the growth rate is lower than the 3.24% rise in taxpayers clocked during 2001-02 to 2005-06.

With India’s population at over 110 crore, a majority of which is joining the workforce, the decline in the CAGR of assessees may be a pointer towards higher tax evasion despite the prevailing view that compliance has increased.

I am missing the Movie . I want to watch that movie again and again in theater . I want to have a projector specially to watch this movie. Every scene of the movie speaks very silently.
